Job Purpose:
To be the main source of dietetic expertise to the business, providing advice to all departments (except product development) and customers. To support the Head of Nutrition & Marketing in supporting customer and business requirements. |

Must be a registered dietitian on HCPC register and full BDA member |

4-5 years post-grad experience, including at least 2 years clinical experience |
Food industry experience desirable (but can be taught) |
Interest in marketing and sustainability desirable |
Experience dealing with customers desirable |
Membership of BDA Food Services Specialist Group desirable |
NHS Hospital catering experience |
Role Accountabilities:

1 | To be the primary dietetic support to customers. Responding to queries within an agreed time period via email or phone. Supporting customers with menu planning BDA compliant menus. |
2 | To support the product development process, by identifying dietetic gaps in product ranges through collection of customer feedback, planning nutritional strategies and being involved in the sign off of new products. |
3 | To manage the Product Development Dietitian after an agreed settling in period. |
4 | To oversee the nutritional analysis of products and back-of-pack (BOP) ingredient/allergen data to ensure accuracy of product labelling information. |
5 | To coordinate product launch information for customer communications as necessary. |
6 | To support the business to develop and implement up to date systems for capturing relevant product data. Oversee design and completion of bespoke customer reports by the Product Development Dietitian. |
7 | To horizon scan food and nutrition legislation and industry standards and present them to the business. Ensure the business is aware of any impactful updates and help develop implementation plans. |
8 | To support the Head of Nutrition & Marketing by providing content for relevant press releases, website updates etc. |
9 | To support the Head of Nutrition & Marketing in representing the business externally as a subject matter expert for nutrition and dietetics at industry events and customer meetings/presentations. |
10 | To support the Head of Nutrition & Marketing with new business tender applications. |
11 | To develop strong relationships with key customers, suppliers and partners, e.g. third-party suppliers of specialist dietetic meals, The Vegan Society, Recipe Professor, FM customers, NHS customers, Trading Standards. |
12 | To contribute to development and maintenance of standard operating procedures relating to relevant areas, such as nutritional analysis and reporting of nutrition information to customers. |
13 | To support the business to meet its net zero objectives. To include supporting initiatives such as carbon labelling and compliance with company food standards. |
Location: Colchester, office based with occasional travel
Salary: Equivalent to Band 6 NHS pay scales, spine point depending on experience
